About Glenn:

Glenn is a passionate local businessman and skilled accountant who has a deep love for sports. Over the past several years, he has dedicated himself to walking and running, and has successfully completed several half marathons. His commitment to fitness and wellness extends beyond his personal achievements, as he takes great pride in providing the local walking and running community with the necessary resources and support to reach their fitness goals.



About Andrea:

After graduating from ODU with a degree in Biology in 2006, Andrea began her career in real estate and property management, working alongside her father, Glenn. In 2007, Andrea discovered her love for running, starting with a simple 5k that quickly led to a passion for longer distances. When Point 2 opened its doors in 2011, it was a natural fit for Andrea to join her father once again. She quickly discovered her passion for serving the local running and walking community, taking great pride in the talented team at Point 2 and their ability to cater to individuals of all fitness levels. Andrea currently resides in Newport News with her husband, Lee, daughter, Olivia, and their beloved dog, Bentley.

About Ruthie:

Originally from Arizona, Ruthie began running in her mid 20s as a charity runner while living in Alaska, and immediately jumped to the marathon distance. She has since completed over 30 marathons in 21 states, with the long-term goal of running one in every state. Ruthie also runs ultramarathons and has completed numerous 100-milers, but her favorite distance is still the full marathon and she is proud to say that she earned her personal best, and first Boston Qualifier, right here at the Newport News One City Marathon. Also a professional harpist, Ruthie enjoys spending her free time with her husband, three children, and their assortment of pets.

About Alan:

Alan is a retired Naval Officer who grew up in Atlanta, Georgia and lived in numerous places during his career in the Navy. He moved to the Hampton Roads area in 1994 and has been here ever since. He took up running in 2008 with his first race being the Virginia Beach Rock ‘n Roll half marathon. Since then he has run 21 marathons, 36 half marathons. 2 ultra-marathons, two 200 mile relays, and 54 other races between 5K and 10 miles. In 2012, he started running marathons in overseas locations and in 2018 he became a member of the Seven Continents Club by completing a marathon on all 7 continents. Alan is in charge of the weekly Point 2 group run in Newport News where he loves seeing runners of all ages and fitness levels. He is always looking for ways to improve these runs and is open to all suggestions and recommendations. He especially enjoys working with new runners offering advice on all aspects of getting into the running lifestyle.

About Katryna:

Katryna began her running journey at a young age in fun runs. When her family moved to Virginia they began going to Point 2 group runs and running local 5k races. Though she complained before every run, Katryna stuck with it after being bribed with 7/11 Slurpees. In high school she found a passion for running after seeing the positive outcomes of her hard work. For 5 years she ran competitively for Tabb High School and Growing Runners Track Club. She currently attends George Mason University where she studies psychology and competes for the women's cross country and track teams.

About Stephen:

Running has been a big part of Stephen's life, completing his first fun run when he was just four years old. His passion has taken him from state championship 5K's to half marathons and even his first ever ultra marathon. Currently a college student at the Colorado School of Mines, Stephen continues his running journey in the Rocky Mountains, discovering new trails and improving his times. As a very adventurous person, Stephen enjoys any time he can be outside whether that be running, skiing, or hiking in the mountains. Although college has taken Stephen away from the flats of coastal Virginia, he hopes to continue supporting Point 2 and his fellow employees.

About Alex:

Alex is a peninsula native and decorated cross country and track athlete from Grafton High School in Yorktown. He has been an employee at Point 2 since his junior year of high school and now attends George Mason University where he competes year round for their varsity teams. Alex was formerly a scholarship athlete at American University for his first two years of college; however, decided to transfer to Mason in pursuit of a coaching license and greater athletic opportunity.

About Caroline:

Caroline is originally from New York, but has called Virginia home for over twenty-five years. Although always active, Caroline didn’t become a long distance runner until she was in her 40’s. She has since completed many Halfs, a handful of Marathons, Relays, and cycling challenges. She loves helping people wherever they are in their journeys.

About Genny:

Genny is a former Engineering Designer turned full-time mom of four children, now grown and flown. She started running after being challenged to a couch-to-5K before turning 50. She was hooked and continues to run in many local races including the One City Maritime 8K and the Crawling Crab Half Marathon. When not running, she is a self-professed garden nerd. She loves all outdoor activities including kayaking, pickle ball, and long walks with her husband of 33 years, Sam.

About Marlyn:

Marlyn is a life long athlete, whose favorite part about Point 2 is the opportunity to empower an active community. She is a French Canadian mother of four and grandmother to one (another is on the way). She’s been very active from a young age-whether it be ice hockey, softball, or handball. She started running in her 20s, and rediscovered her passion for the sport in her 40s and hasn’t stopped since. Outside of work, Marlyn loves spending time with her husband biking, playing tennis, or doing yoga, depending on the season. She also can be found traveling, cooking, and hosting family and friends.

About Lauren:

Lauren is an avid runner who currently attends Tabb High School and runs on the track and cross country teams. She has been running since elementary school and loves the competitive nature and encouraging community that running adds to her life. Lauren will continue running after high school for Purdue University's track and cross country teams as a Division 1 student-athlete. While attending Purdue, she plans to study aerospace engineering. Outside of running, Lauren loves traveling with her family, trying new foods, going on hikes, and is an active member of many school clubs and activities.

About Isabella:

Isabella started running in 2018 when her dad challenged her to finish a 10K on a dare and has since fallen in love with the sport. She has since raced in distances from the 800m to half marathons. Isabella enjoys running for the strength and mental clarity it gives her and enjoys helping runners of all levels achieve their goals and improve their running experience.

About Hailey:

Hailey started running young, completing her first 5k with her dad in 2016. When she got to high school, she continued running in her free time and joined the cross country team junior year. Aside from running, Hailey enjoys reading, painting, anatomy, and being with friends. She loves traveling and taking pictures of beautiful sunsets.

About Lorraine:

Lorraine is originally from Tennessee where she grew up in the land of Chattanooga. Lorraine started running in high school just to keep in shape, found it to be a great outlet, and has kept with it ever since. From 5K to 10K to full marathons and she’s now been introduced to ultra marathons. She thoroughly enjoys helping people find the right shoe so they can embark on or continue on their journeys.

About Dillon:

Dillon, a lifelong Virginia resident, began running in 8th grade and pursued track until his junior year, when he joined his school’s wrestling team. Wrestling at Hampden-Sydney College during his freshman year, his aspirations were cut short due to a program termination. Facing an MCL tear, Dillon was unable to pursue combat sports and became sedentary. However in 2023, he reignited his passion for running, dedicating himself to training for and completing the JFK 50 Miler. This milestone spurred him to participate in and successfully finish the Blackbeard’s Revenge 100-mile race. Now an active ultra-runner, Dillon plans to continue competing in ultra races for the foreseeable future. He derives satisfaction from assisting our customers in finding the appropriate gear to achieve their goals, big or small!

About Cameron:

Cameron is a retired United States Army veteran with a passion for fitness and family. Originally from Arizona, he has lived in Virginia since he met his wife in 2020. He began running in 2018 to prepare for the Army and has kept it up as a stress reliever and way to stay fit, despite injuries from his service. Cameron enjoys spending his time with his family and keeping active with his three dogs.

About Connor:

Connor started running in 7th grade, doing middle school cross country and track before he started racing for Tabb High School in 8th grade. He is currently a junior at Tabb and is a varsity runner for the cross country and indoor/outdoor track teams. He races distances from the 800m to 8k and loves the joy and challenge of running. Connor also enjoys hanging out with friends, camping, hiking, and just being outdoors.

About Alex:

Alex and his wife Justine moved to Elizabeth City with their 2 dogs in July of 2022. Alex grew up and ran cross country and track in Lancaster Ohio before going to compete at Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania. Alex has worked in Run Specialty and in fitness centers since 2014. Additionally, he has experience coaching high school and college athletes. In 2018 he started his own timing company. He continues to train for races ranging from 800 meters to the marathon and in his spare time likes to hunt, fish, and hang out with his dogs.

About Andrea:

Andrea has been a long time runner/walker/fitness enthusiast since her early 20s. Her greatest love is running ultramarathons with her friends but enjoys a nice evening walk and lifting weights as well. She loves to meet new friends and encourage others to meet their goals no matter where they are starting from in their journey. You will find her on Monday nights at Wasserhund Brewing Company leading our Point 2 Chesapeake group run and peer pressuring her friends to go a little farther than they have before. When not out pounding pavement and trails she enjoys spending time with husband and 2 daughters and traveling whenever they can.

About Ethel:

Ethel was raised and lived in Kentucky until 2016 when she moved to Chesapeake. She started walking in 2017 and has since completed a 5 miler, 10k, numerous 5k's, and recently completed her first Half Marathon.

About Ray:

Ray began running in High School as a sprinter and mid-distance athlete. He is a father of 2 daughters and 1 son and has lived in NY and VA. Ray has run in numerous races locally and regionally and his favorite distance is the half marathon. He enjoys interacting with the running community and doing volunteer work for various organizations. His other interests include being a podcaster and licensed amateur radio operator.

About Susan:

Susan grew up In Milwaukee, WI, and currently resides in Norfolk. She is an AR specialist for Sentara full time. Susan’s love of running started 10 years ago when she joined a running store 5k training program. After that she was addicted to running! From there Susan has run many 5ks and 10ks, 10 half marathons, 1 full marathon, 4 triathlons and 2- 200-mile team relays. Susan enjoys working out whether its swimming laps, yoga, barre, or biking. She also enjoys a good adventure like camping, hiking, backpacking, and traveling the world.

About Michelle:

Michelle is a Coast Guard spouse and mother of two young children. She is from Asheville, NC, but has been moving around the country since her husband joined the military. She ran track and cross country in high school, but found her real passion for running in 2012. One of her favorite races was the Rainier to Ruston relay in Washington State. She has raced many distances from 5K to Half Marathon. Her current goals are to PR her half time and possibly complete her first marathon. Her motivation for running is knowing that she is lucky enough to be able to run. She likes to run with Ainsley’s Angels to see the smiles on the faces of the amazing angel athletes. When she is not running, she enjoys sewing, camping, and spending time with her family.

About Kamryn:

Kamryn started running when she moved to Ohio at 13 years old. She competed in both cross country and track all the way through high school, and earned herself a spot competing in college at Anderson University. She found a love for mid-distance running and spent her 4 years racing 800s and 400s. After graduating, Kamryn married her college sweetheart and moved to Virginia Beach so they could both begin law school together at Regent University. Since living here, she has enjoyed connecting with the robust running community in the area and started training for longer distance running. With one half marathon under her belt, Kamryn looks forward to continuing to find new challenges and create new goals in her running career!

About Serenity:

Serenity was born and raised in Missouri. She moved to Virginia in 2013, where she joined a run club as a way to make friends. She has dabbled a bit in the running community, mostly completing 5Ks, fun runs, and mud runs. Fitness has always played a big role in her life. She was a spin instructor, group fitness instructor, and personal trainer for the YMCA in the Hampton Roads area as well as the DC area. The last few years she has immersed herself in running, completing 3 full marathons and has more than 30 half marathons under her belt. Full time, she works in finance as a securities administrator, helping clients save and prepare for their future. When she is not at work, you can find her playing with her two rescue pups or enjoying a movie with her fiancé Phillip.

About Domenic:

Domenic started running when he was 10 years old. Domenic is from South Jersey and ran high school track and field, competing in multiple state championships and breaking high school records in 400 and 800m. Domenic then continued his track and field career by attending Regent University in Virginia Beach, where he won All American honors at NCCAA Championships along with winning Male Athlete of the Year for the 2023-2024 season. Running has always been a passion for Domenic and you see that spark in his eye as soon as he hits the track. Domenic enjoys living in Virginia Beach and wants to continue learning more about the area. Domenic continues to learn more and strive for greatness when it comes to achieving new goals and aspirations!

About Peyton:

Peyton has lived in the Hampton Roads area for the past 15 years. A casual runner of 5 years, he has competed in the 2023 and 2024 Shamrock 8k, and plans on running half-marathons in the future. Peyton is a registered EMT in the state of Virginia and plans to study sports medicine in pursuit of a career in athletic training or coaching. Outside of running, Peyton enjoys writing fiction, music, studying statistics, and cheering on the UNC Tar Heels.
