Glenn is a passionate local businessman and skilled accountant who has a deep love for sports. Over the past several years, he has dedicated himself to walking and running, and has successfully completed several half marathons. His commitment to fitness and wellness extends beyond his personal achievements, as he takes great pride in providing the local walking and running community with the necessary resources and support to reach their fitness goals.

About Andrea:

After graduating from ODU with a degree in Biology in 2006, Andrea began her career in real estate and property management, working alongside her father, Glenn. In 2007, Andrea discovered her love for running, starting with a simple 5k that quickly led to a passion for longer distances. When Point 2 opened its doors in 2011, it was a natural fit for Andrea to join her father once again. She quickly discovered her passion for serving the local running and walking community, taking great pride in the talented team at Point 2 and their ability to cater to individuals of all fitness levels. Andrea currently resides in Newport News with her husband, Lee, daughter, Olivia, and their beloved dog, Bentley.

About Ruthie:

Originally from Arizona, Ruthie began running in her mid 20s in Alaska as a charity runner and immediately jumped to the marathon distance. She has since completed over marathons in 21 states, with the long-term goal of running one in every state. Ruthie also runs ultramarathons and has completed five 100-milers, but her favorite distance is still the full marathon and she is proud to say that she earned her personal best, and first Boston Qualifier, right here at the Newport News One City Marathon. Also a professional harpist, Ruthie enjoys spending her free time with her three children, her fiancé, and their assortment of pets.

About Alan:

Alan is a retired Naval Officer who grew up in Atlanta, Georgia and lived in numerous places during his career in the Navy. He moved to the Hampton Roads area in 1994 and has been here ever since. He took up running in 2008 with his first race being the Virginia Beach Rock ‘n Roll half marathon. Since then he has run 16 marathons, 28 half marathons. 2 ultra-marathons, two 200 mile relays, and 37 other races between 5 and 10 kilometers. In 2012, he started running marathons in overseas locations and in 2018 he became a member of the Seven Continents Club by completing a marathon on all 7 continents. Alan is in charge of the weekly Point 2 group run in Newport News where he loves seeing runners of all ages and fitness levels. He is always looking for ways to improve these runs and is open to all suggestions and recommendations. He especially enjoys working with new runners offering advice on all aspects of getting into the running lifestyle.

About Kasandra:

Kasandra started running when she was 7 years old in a charity 5k; she scared her parents when she ran away from them after the start of the race and ran the race on her own. Since then, Kasandra has competed in many events ranging from the 300-meter dash to half marathons. In 2018, she won the Virginia 3A State Cross Country Championship and went undefeated in the Bay Rivers District. She currently runs at Virginia Commonwealth University where she is majoring in Mechanical and Nuclear Engineering with a double major in Physics. Outside of running, Kasandra likes to hike, bike, cook, and knit.

About Cris:

Cris is a born and raised London (U.K.) native who moved to Newport News in 2017 as a military spouse. She lives with her husband and rescue dog, loves interacting with the local community, and volunteers with a few local organizations. Cris started taking running “way more seriously” after coming in to the store in 2018 and meeting Alan, who fitted her for the right running shoes and got her 5K ready. Since then, she has completed numerous 5K’s, an 8K, 10K and recently completed her first half marathon, the One City Half Marathon. Cris is passionate about how running changed her life both mentally and physically, so naturally her favorite part about working at Point 2 is being able to help new runners get ready for their first race, or to just start running!

About Katryna:

Katryna began her running journey at a young age in fun runs. When her family moved to Virginia they began going to Point 2 group runs and running local 5k races. Though she complained before every run, Katryna stuck with it after being bribed with 7/11 Slurpees. In high school she found a passion for running after seeing the positive outcomes of her hard work. For 5 years she ran competitively for Tabb High School and Growing Runners Track Club. She currently attends George Mason University where she studies psychology and competes for the women's cross country and track teams.

About Stephen:

Running has been a big part of Stephen's life, completing his first fun run when he was just four years old. His passion has taken him from state championship 5K's to half marathons and even his first ever ultra marathon. Currently a college student at the Colorado School of Mines, Stephen continues his running journey in the Rocky Mountains, discovering new trails and improving his times. As a very adventurous person, Stephen enjoys any time he can be outside whether that be running, skiing, or hiking in the mountains. Although college has taken Stephen away from the flats of coastal Virginia, he hopes to continue supporting Point 2 and his fellow employees.

About Alex:

Alex stumbled upon early success in his running career giving him the opportunity to compete at the Division I level for the American University Cross Country and Track Teams. Throughout his tenure in high school, he acquired four all-regional finishes, eight regional titles, ten all-state finishes, and five state runner-up finishes across each of the three respective running seasons. Alex has always been a loyal customer of the Point 2 Running Company, since the beginning of his young career. Although his visits might come few and far between now that he is a student-athlete in DC, he hopes as an employee that his expertise and running knowledge can have a positive impact on neighbors in the community and other recreational or competitive athletes who are driven and goal-oriented just like him.

About Caroline:

Originally from New York but moving around as a military family, Caroline has chosen to call Virginia "home". While spending many years in varied retail positions and teaching kindergarten, Caroline always enjoyed various sports and the outdoors but was not able to run long distances until an exercise-induced asthma diagnosis in 2012. Despite being close to 50 years old and believing she would never run a marathon, a persistent friend convinced her to set new goals; since then she has completed four full marathons plus many other races including a Go Ruck 26.2 event and two 200-mile relays. Caroline also recently got back into cycling and enjoys weekly long bike rides with friends. In her free time she enjoys volunteering and has had the honor of serving the Greatest Generation and many other veterans through Honor Flight, and she loves helping people wherever they are in their journey.

About Jeff:

A native of Charlottesville, Jeff started running in 2004, as a member of the Western Albemarle High School cross country team. He has been passionate about the sport ever since, and enjoys sharing his experiences with customers and coworkers at Point 2. In his free time, Jeff enjoys hanging out with his wife and two boys, going on walks with his dogs, and undertaking overly ambitious home-improvement projects.

About Genny:

Genny is a former Engineering Designer turned full-time mom of four children, now grown and flown. She started running after being challenged to a couch-to-5K before turning 50. She was hooked and continues to run in many local races including the One City Maritime 8K and the Crawling Crab Half Marathon. When not running, she is a self-professed garden nerd. She loves all outdoor activities including kayaking, pickle ball, and long walks with her husband of 33 years, Sam.

About Marlyn:

Marlyn is a life long athlete, whose favorite part about Point 2 is the opportunity to empower an active community. She is a French Canadian mother of four and grandmother to one (another is on the way). She’s been very active from a young age-whether it be ice hockey, softball, or handball. She started running in her 20s, and rediscovered her passion for the sport in her 40s and hasn’t stopped since. Outside of work, Marlyn loves spending time with her husband biking, playing tennis, or doing yoga, depending on the season. She also can be found traveling, cooking, and hosting family and friends.

About Lauren:

Lauren is a track and cross country athlete for Tabb High School who started running at a young age. Her passion for running started in Colorado during her participation in the elementary run club. Along with running at the high school level, Lauren loves competing in triathlons during the summer with the Yorktown Triathlon Club. Outside of running, she is a military child who loves traveling and trying new foods with her family, and is an active member in many clubs at her school.

About Isabella:

Isabella started running in 2018 when her dad challenged her to finish a 10K on a dare and has since fallen in love with the sport. She currently runs for Tabb High School and has raced in distances from the 800m to the half marathon. Isabella enjoys running for the strength and mental clarity it gives her and enjoys helping runners of all levels achieve their goals and improve their running experience.

Hailey runs cross country and track for Tabb High School. She began running young, completing her first 5k with her dad in 2016. Since then, her love for running has gotten stronger, pushing her to compete in longer distances and learn new things. Outside of running, Hailey loves traveling to Disney World with her family and enjoys taking pictures of her adventures.

About Lorraine:

Lorraine is originally from Tennessee where she grew up in the land of Chattanooga. Lorraine started running in high school just to keep in shape, found it to be a great outlet, and has kept with it ever since. From 5K to 10K to full marathons and she’s now been introduced to ultra marathons. She thoroughly enjoys helping people find the right shoe so they can embark on or continue on their journeys.

About Alex:

Alex and his wife Justine moved to Elizabeth City with their 2 dogs in July of 2022. Alex grew up and ran cross country and track in Lancaster Ohio before going to compete at Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania. Alex has worked in Run Specialty and in fitness centers since 2014. Additionally, he has experience coaching high school and college athletes. In 2018 he started his own timing company. He continues to train for races ranging from 800 meters to the marathon and in his spare time likes to hunt, fish, and hang out with his dogs.

About Darlena:

Darlena is a mother of 3 born and raised in Connecticut. She was an athlete growing up but didn’t discover her love of running until 2008. Since then she has been blessed to have running adventures all over the country (including a month long cross country trip in which she ran in every state visited.) Darlena has completed ultramarathons, multi challenge weekends, but her favorites are trail running and the half marathon distance. A self proclaimed running nerd, she loves her Garmin, running stats, and has dabbled in Heart Rate Training. Believing in giving back Darlena has participated in Team in Training (Go Team!), is a Charity Miles Champion, a Buddy in the IRun4 program, and is a six time Grand Champion with the Walk to End Alzheimer’s. She loves supporting runners of all ages and paces and believes there is a place for EVERYONE in the running community. Her run motto: Run find your happy pace.

About Andrea:

Andrea started running during college as a way to get into shape for her wedding and found a passion for health and fitness. Since then she has run over 300 races including 40+ marathons and 40+ ultramarathons. Andrea moved to Virginia in 2011 and immediately joined the Y and began a local running club so she could meet active friends in the area. She loves sharing her passion for fitness and encouraging others so she became a certified group exercise instructor at the Y to help others reach their goals. When not running and working out, Andrea enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters, traveling, hiking and cooking.

Ethel was raised and lived in Kentucky until 2016 when she moved to Chesapeake. She started walking in 2017 and has since completed a 5 miler, 10k, numerous 5k's, and recently completed her first Half Marathon.

About Ray:

Ray began running in High School as a sprinter and mid-distance athlete. He is a father of 2 daughters and 1 son and has lived in NY and VA. Ray has run in numerous races locally and regionally and his favorite distance is the half marathon. He enjoys interacting with the running community and doing volunteer work for various organizations. His other interests include being a podcaster and licensed amateur radio operator.

About Susan:

Susan grew up In Milwaukee, WI, and currently resides in Norfolk. She is an AR specialist for Sentara full time. Susan’s love of running started 10 years ago when she joined a running store 5k training program. After that she was addicted to running! From there Susan has run many 5ks and 10ks, 5 half marathons, 1 full marathon, 3 triathlons and 2- 200-mile team relays. Susan enjoys working out whether its swimming laps, yoga, barre, or biking. She also enjoys a good adventure like camping, hiking, backpacking, and traveling the world.

About Seven:

Seven is a senior at Western Branch High School. She is coming up on her third and final year of cross country and track and field. As a captain of WBXC she has found that there is so much more to running than just...running. Running is community, hope, teamwork, self-confidence, and achievements. She has learned that anything that one can set their heart to can be achieved with hard work and a good attitude about it. The best part about running to Seven is that she feels that she has almost like a second family that she has gained from the running community. Seven enjoys bringing that same spirit to Point 2 and the customers that she interacts with.

About Christina:

Christina is a Hampton Roads native, who found her love of running in her mid twenties to get back into shape after living abroad for a year. After countless runs, she still says the Yorktown Fourth of July 8k is her favorite race. It combines her two favorite things: running and history! Christina loves the way running creates an endurance challenge, and also a confidence in one’s ability to conquer different distances. She and her husband Clint, enjoy doing home renovation projects to their 100 year old Dutch Colonial in Portsmouth when they aren’t running races. They have a puppy, Casper, they adopted from the Humane Society. They hope he will make an awesome running buddy when he gets older! Christina is currently training for her first full marathon, as well as earning her teaching license to teach 6th grade history.

About Michelle:

Michelle is a Coast Guard spouse and mother of two young children. She is from Asheville, NC, but has been moving around the country since her husband joined the military. She ran track and cross country in high school, but found her real passion for running in 2012. One of her favorite races was the Rainier to Ruston relay in Washington State. She has raced many distances from 5K to Half Marathon. Her current goals are to PR her half time and possibly complete her first marathon. Her motivation for running is knowing that she is lucky enough to be able to run. She likes to run with Ainsley’s Angels to see the smiles on the faces of the amazing angel athletes. When she is not running, she enjoys sewing, camping, and spending time with her family.

About Logan:

Logan grew up in Southwest Virginia. He started running to lose weight and become healthier; he lost 40lbs and discovered a passion for running. Running also helped him navigate stressful times for him as he was struggling with his identity and battling the difficulties of Celiac Disease and Ulcerative Colitis. He has raced everything from a Mile to an Ultra, and his favorite distance is the Marathon.
